Idaho's DMI Therapy Resource

Helping Idaho families find Dynamic Movement Intervention therapy for their children

Idaho DMI is your community guide to Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) therapy, pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and developmental services across Boise, the Treasure Valley, Coeur d'Alene, and northern Idaho. Currently, only two Idaho clinics have DMI-certified therapists on staff, making it important for families to understand what DMI is and where to find qualified providers.

Understanding DMI Therapy

What is Dynamic Movement Intervention?

Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a therapeutic technique used in pediatric physical and occupational therapy to help children with motor delays improve their automatic postural responses to gravity and progress toward developmental milestones. DMI practitioners work with children from as young as 1 to 2 months of age, and exercises are repeated around five times each across many exercises per session.

Boise & the Treasure Valley

DMI therapy in Boise and the Treasure Valley

Boise-area families have access to a DMI-certified occupational therapist at Lullaby Waters, alongside a broad range of pediatric therapy clinics across Boise, Meridian, Eagle, and Nampa. DMI training runs through seven certification levels, and only therapists who have completed Level C may offer an official DMI Therapy Intensive. Children under three can also be evaluated at no cost through the Idaho Infant Toddler Program, and school-age children may qualify for services through their district.

About this site

Idaho DMI is an independent, non-commercial resource. It is not run by a clinic, it has no financial relationship with any provider listed here, and it accepts no advertising or referral fees. There is nothing to buy and no form to fill out. It exists because Dynamic Movement Intervention is not well known in Idaho, and families whose children haven't progressed with conventional therapy deserve to know it's an option worth asking about.

Information here is drawn from DMI's official training organization and published clinical literature, and is linked to its sources so you can check it yourself. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Always talk with your child's pediatrician or therapist before starting a new therapy.
